AI Tutor

OpenLab Science's AI tutor can answer questions inside a running lab using live measurements and formulas. Guided tutorials work without AI — the built-in AI tutor is free and needs no setup.

What it does

Provides Socratic help about the experiment you are running, using current simulation values when available.

What it does not do

It is not a homework answer service or a replacement for your teacher. It will not complete assignments for you.

Who can access it

• Advanced: add your own API key in lab AI settings to use your own model.
• Everyone: built-in AI is free in every lab — no access code needed.

Quick setup

1. Open any lab and start an experiment or tutorial.
2. The built-in AI tutor is free — no setup needed. Optionally add your own API key in AI settings (gear icon).
3. Use the Ask panel to pose questions about what you see.
