Trust Center

OpenLab Science is built for classrooms. Here's exactly what we collect, how we protect it, and where every claim on this page comes from — not a marketing summary, a set of links to the real policies and the real code.

Privacy

We collect the least data we can get away with. The only email address the Service ever captures is a teacher's, submitted voluntarily. No student account, student login, or student personal information is ever required or collected.

AI data flow

The built-in AI tutor sends your question, the current scene, and measurements through our server to a third-party AI provider. When you supply your own API key, requests still pass through our server and are forwarded to your chosen provider; your key is used to make the request and is never stored.

Security

No teacher or student accounts, logins, or passwords exist anywhere in the product — there are no credentials to breach.

The Service is hosted on Vercel, which serves every page over HTTPS.

API keys and other secrets are held as server-side environment variables and are never shipped in client-side code.

We do not process payment card data ourselves.

Accessibility

We publish our accessibility status honestly — what's been tested, what we know is still a gap, and the specific commitments we're holding ourselves to. We do not claim WCAG conformance at any level; no formal audit has been conducted to date.

Terms of use

Our terms cover permitted use, classroom and teacher use, and a dedicated section on what the AI features may and may not do.
